WHAT MAKES THE INVERNESS SYSTEM SO SAFE?

CARTRIDGE.jpg

Fully enclosed sterile earring capsules

Inverness' pre-sterilized earring capsules ensure the safest ear piecing possible by preventing the piercing earring and Safety Back™ from being exposed to possible contaminants prior to piercing.

Exclusive Inverness Safety Back™

The Inverness Safety Back™ shields the sharp piercing tip and prevents the earring back from being squeezed too tight. This provides ample space and airflow while the piercing heals.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Choosing where to have your ears pierced is a very personal choice. We've put together a list of our most frequently asked questions to help you feel more informed ahead of booking your appointment. If you can't find the answer to your question, please call the team on (01227) 767 206.

What will the appointment be like?

Before the piercing, we will take you through the relevant forms that need to be signed. Once this is done, we will clean and mark the area you would like pierced - we will always make sure you're happy with the location before carrying out the piercing. When the piercing is done, we will show you how to clean and look after your piercing while it heals.

Where on the ear can you pierce?

We can pierce any part of the ear lobe or outer cartilage. This includes lobe, upper lobe, mid cartilage, and helix.

Does it hurt?

Ear piercings are usually the least painful kind of piercing. All our piercing earrings have ultra-thin piercing posts, which help your ears heal faster and minimise any discomfort. All of our trained piercing staff have had piercings using the Inverness system and will put you at ease if you are feeling nervous.

When can I change my piercing?

When you can change your piercing is dependant on how your piercing is healing. We recommend waiting at least 6 weeks for lobe piercings and 12 weeks for cartilage. Once this time has passed you will be able to change your jewellery but you must keep an earring in until it has healed. The piercing may still get irritated from time to time, if this happens we recommend going back to your piercing care routine until it calms.

How long does it take to heal?

Everyone heals differently, but typically lobe piercings take 6-12 weeks. Cartilage piercings up to 1 year.

What is the minimum age?

Our piercing service is available for anyone over the age of 10 years old. Under 16s will need to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. We may ask to see your photo ID, so please bring a passport or driving licence with you.

Do I need to fill in any forms?

Please note, you will be required to complete an authorisation book ahead of your ear piercing taking place. We are unable to carry out the ear piercing until this has been completed in full. If you are 10-15 years old, we can pierce your ears with the permission from a parent or legal guardian who will need to provide ID for themselves and the minor. The responsible adult will have to complete the consent form.

Can I have my ears pierced if I have a medical condition?

If you have any medical conditions, or are currently taking medication, which may impact you being able to have your ears pierced, you should seek advice from your GP. They should be able to provide you with a note of approval and you will be able to return to have your ears safely pierced.
